Giving

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:21

Why we give?

All of the money and resources that we own ultimately belong to God (Psalm 50:10-12). This means that when Proverbs 3:9 instructs us to "honor the Lord with [our] wealth and with the firstfruits of all [our] produce," we are simply giving God back a portion of what he has generously blessed us with. Financial giving is one of the foundational actions of the Christian life!

When we give, we…

It goes further…

Take care of the needs of the poor  (Proverbs 19:7, Matthew 25:37-40, Galatians 2:10)
Support the work of the ministry in the church (1 Corinthians 9:14, 1 Timothy 5:17-18)
Participate in the spread of the Gospel throughout the world (Acts 13:2-3, Luke 9:1-6)
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught that our hearts and our wallets are inextricably linked: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also: (Matthew 6:21). This means that giving isn’t something we do simply for practical reasons, but we give generously because it shapes our hearts to become more like God, the one who is exceedingly generous!

Giving should never be done out of guilt or naked obligation, nor should it be done to “force God’s hand” into responding with material blessings. Rather, giving should be done as as an act of joyful worship to God, a way to respond to his overflowing generosity to us. We invite you to give generously to the work that God is doing in and through Edgewood Bible Church!

Ways To Give

Due to the pandemic, we have changed the way our offering is collected on Sunday mornings. Rather than pass a basket, contributions may be placed in the locked box on the back wall of the sanctuary. We recognize that some desire to give in the service as a way to teach their children the importance of giving, to give as the Lord leads, or to help them give systematically. If you would rather give confidentially, there are other options.
  1. Hand deliver cash or check to the office during office hours.
  2. Mail a check to the church office. Our secure mailbox is at 1720 Meridian Ave. E., Edgewood, WA 98371.
  3. Set up direct funds to be sent by your bank to the church. Please use our secure mailbox address when setting up direct funds from your bank (1720 Meridian Ave. E., Edgewood, WA 98371).
  4. Give online through the app or website.

Give Through The Website

Setting up a recurring gift online is an efficient way to participate in giving systematically. Giving online is a secure and easy way to give tithes and offerings while at home or out of town. It virtually eliminates the possibility of forgetting to bring your offering to church. Please be aware that there is an approximate fee of 2% for credit or debit transactions and an approximate fee of 1% for E-Check/ACH transactions made online.

Give Through The EBC App

The app provides a very convenient method of giving tithes and offerings. Simply select "Giving" on the app menu, then enter your dollar amount and frequency. Please be aware that there is a 2.3% fee for credit or debit transactions and a 1% fee for E-Check/ACH transactions made through the app.
CREDIT DISCLAIMER:  If you are currently in debt or have had a history of debt problems, we would discourage use of your credit card to tithe or give to the church.
