Women's Ministry

  Women's Ministry
It is our purpose to glorify God by providing opportunities for fellowship, encouragement, teaching, and service for the women of Edgewood Bible Church. It is our desire that the Lord perfect us in unity and knowledge of Him, therefore we are seeking to encourage women to walk closely with Him and to use their spiritual gifs to the benefit of believers. It is our prayer that the Lord will find us faithful and to be women whose lives proclaim Jesus Christ as we minister to others.

    Bible Study

  • Ladies Bible Studies begin in September and run weekly during the school year with breaks during holidays. They are held on Tuesday mornings in the office at 10:00 AM and Tuesday evenings in the MPB at 6:30 PM to 8 PM. During summer months, the schedule and offerings vary. Please call the Church Office to find out informaiton on the current session.  All ladies are welcome.

    Mentoring
  • It is our belief that God has called women to participate in a mentoring ministry based on Scriptural foundation that is found in Titus 2:3-5. In this, we are told to teach and guide the next generation of Christian women in how to live the life of a godly women in Christ.

Titus 2:3-5 "Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored."

    Ministry to Widows
  • Through several avenues, our goal is to honor and encourage widows in our church family. This is done through pampering events; encouragement and support in times of need; and providing areas of ministry involvment.
    Mercy Ministry
  • Meeting Congregational Needs

This involves providing meals during illness, emergencies, or a recent birth. Also, we provide a basket of fruit, drinks and snacks for families spending an extended time in hospital waiting rooms wile a loved one is under hospital care. For more information, contact the Women's Ministry.

    Serving at Funerals

This has been a very fulfilling ministry and a great witness to the community as well as the unsaved. We provide a luncheon following the service. A common comment has been, "I can't believe you'd do this for no charge." The response from the families is a very rewarding experience.

    Ministering to Shut-ins and Elderly

Our purpose is to provide physical labor for yard work, cleaning houses, planing flowers; as well as building friendships and being an encouragement to those in the church body with physical limitations.

Colossians 1:10 "So that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God."
